Willi McFarland MD, PhD ’95 is an HIV/AIDS specialist who serves as professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the UCSF School of Medicine. He is a principal investigator of the Trans*National Cohort Study and director of the Center for Public Health Research at the San Francisco Department of Public Health. He has conducted research on the epidemiology and prevention of HIV in California, the United States, and internationally. His primary emphasis is on surveillance in key populations and the use of data for public health decision-making.
